Raumer is a black metal band formed in 2020 which got its name from a Scandinavian tribe originally from the area of Romerike that stood against Olav Haraldsson who wanted to Christianize them back in the 11th century.
The five-piece – comprised of Savarak on vocals, Odin on lead guitar and additional vocals, Hypnoticvs on rhythm guitar, Inferis on bass and Ziechenbart on drums – has released their debut EP “World Ablaze” a few weeks ago via the German label Cold Northern Breeze Records, performing for the first time ever at MoRo Kulturpub, a small pub located in Flateby, a village with around 3200 inhabitants located 40 minutes away from Oslo. This is an unusual location for concerts of this kind of music and this was indeed the first black metal concert ever in this area of the country.

After Moonstuff, Sverre Smed and the thrash metal band Integra Mortis finished their respective performances, Raumer took the stage with a strong presence and attitude wearing lots of corpsepaint, bullet belts, chains and spikes, while the vocalist (also responsible for the lyrics) used an inverted cross, a skull and even a sword (!) as part of the show. The stage was also adorned with inverted crosses, barbed wire and incense which created the right atmosphere for the execution of the five songs from their EP which have influences from the second wave of black metal with evil sounding riffs and bombastic blast beats, leaving a very good impression in the audience that ended up asking for more songs. We’ll see what the future holds for these guys, but it looks promising!
